Common Microwave Problems We Diagnose & Repair
Microwave faults can involve heating, power, electrical, electronic, control, door-safety and mechanical systems. Because several faults can produce similar symptoms, we inspect the appliance before recommending repair or replacement parts.
The Microwave Symptom Is a Starting Point, Not the Final Diagnosis
A microwave that does not heat, does not start, sparks or makes an unusual noise does not automatically identify one failed component. The model, appliance condition, operating behavior and relevant systems should be assessed before deciding which repair is appropriate.
Microwave Problems Our Technicians Can Inspect
These are some of the common symptoms customers report when requesting microwave repair across Kathmandu Valley.
Microwave Not Heating
The microwave appears to operate but food remains cold, heats slowly or does not reach the expected temperature.
Microwave Not Turning On
The appliance has no response, no display or does not start when normal controls are used.
Microwave Sparking or Arcing
Visible sparks or electrical arcing occur inside the microwave during operation.
Microwave Making Unusual Noise
Buzzing, grinding, rattling, humming or another new and abnormal sound occurs during operation.
Microwave Turntable Not Rotating
The microwave operates but the glass tray does not rotate correctly or stops during use.
Microwave Door Not Closing Properly
The door does not close, latch or align correctly, or the microwave does not recognize that the door is closed.
Microwave Buttons Not Working
Some or all keypad, touch-panel or control buttons do not respond normally.
Microwave Display Problem
The display is blank, dim, intermittent or does not show information correctly.
Microwave Stops During Operation
The microwave starts normally but switches off or stops before the selected cooking cycle is complete.
Microwave Tripping the Electrical Supply
Electrical protection trips when the microwave is connected, started or operated.
Burning Smell or Overheating
The microwave produces an unusual burning smell, excessive heat or another abnormal temperature-related symptom.
Microwave Fan or Light Problem
The internal light, cooling fan or another supporting function does not operate as expected.
One Symptom Can Have More Than One Possible Cause
Heating-system diagnosis should come before deciding which component requires replacement.
Power, protection, wiring, safety switching and control systems may need assessment.
Cookware, contamination, cavity condition and internal faults can contribute to abnormal sparking.
The tray, roller, coupler, drive system and related parts may need inspection.
Do Not Assume the Magnetron Needs Replacement
The magnetron is an important microwave heating component, but a not-heating symptom alone does not prove that it has failed. Depending on the microwave design and fault, other relevant high-voltage, electrical, control or safety components may need inspection before a repair decision is made.
A Dead Microwave Does Not Automatically Mean PCB Failure
If the microwave has no display or response, the technician may need to consider the incoming power condition, protection components, wiring, connections, door-safety switching and electronic controls. Replacing the control board without diagnosis can result in unnecessary repair cost.
Stop Repeatedly Operating a Microwave With Serious Symptoms
Repeated electrical sparking, smoke, a persistent burning smell, severe overheating or repeated electrical tripping should not be ignored. Stop using the microwave and disconnect it only if safe to do so. Continuing to operate an appliance with a serious electrical symptom may increase the risk of further damage or a safety incident.
Diagnose First, Then Discuss the Repair
Our service process begins with the reported symptom and applicable inspection of the microwave. Once the likely fault and repair requirement are identified, the technician can discuss the repair, applicable replacement parts and expected cost before approved work proceeds. Complex faults may require workshop testing or repair.
Do Not Remove the Microwave Cover to Diagnose the Fault Yourself
Microwave ovens can contain hazardous high-voltage components capable of retaining electrical energy even after the appliance is unplugged. Internal testing and high-voltage repair should be carried out only by appropriately trained technicians using suitable procedures and equipment.
Book Microwave Fault Inspection
Tell us what your microwave is doing, the brand and model number if available, and your exact location. A technician can inspect the reported fault before recommending applicable repair or replacement parts.
Microwave Not Heating? Get the Fault Properly Diagnosed
A microwave may switch on, illuminate, rotate and appear to run normally while food remains cold or heats very slowly. This symptom can have several possible causes, so the heating and related systems should be diagnosed before deciding which component requires repair or replacement.
Not Heating Does Not Automatically Mean Magnetron Failure
The magnetron is one important component involved in microwave heating, but it is not the only possible cause of a no-heat condition. Depending on the model and fault, relevant high-voltage components, electrical connections, safety switching or control systems may also need inspection. Proper diagnosis helps avoid unnecessary component replacement.
Signs Your Microwave Heating System Needs Inspection
Customers may describe a heating fault in several different ways. The operating behavior helps guide diagnosis but does not by itself identify the failed component.
The timer, light or turntable may operate normally, but the food does not become warm.
Food requires much longer than expected to heat compared with the appliance's normal performance.
The microwave may heat during some cycles but fail to heat consistently during others.
What May Need to Be Checked
The exact checks depend on the microwave design, reported symptom and appliance condition.
Relevant components involved in generating and delivering microwave heating may require assessment.
Applicable high-voltage components and connections may need professional diagnosis.
Door closure, interlocks and related safety switching may affect correct appliance operation.
Electrical connections and applicable control functions may also require inspection.
Do I Automatically Need a New Magnetron?
No. A microwave that runs but does not heat should not automatically be diagnosed as having a failed magnetron. Replacement should only be considered when appropriate diagnosis supports that conclusion and repair is practical for the particular microwave.
Diagnose the Heating Fault Before Buying Parts
Replacing expensive microwave components based only on a symptom can increase repair cost without solving the actual problem. Inspection helps determine whether repair, adjustment, connection work or component replacement is appropriate before parts are selected.
From No-Heat Complaint to Repair Decision
The service begins with the symptom you report. The technician then assesses the appliance and relevant systems. Once the likely fault is identified, the repair requirement and applicable cost can be discussed before approved work proceeds.
Contact us by phone, WhatsApp or online booking.
Share the microwave brand, model and operating symptom.
Relevant systems are assessed according to the fault.
Applicable work, parts and expected cost are discussed.
Approved repair is completed and applicable operation tested.
Some Microwave Heating Repairs May Require Workshop Service
Initial inspection can begin at a serviceable customer location. When the heating fault requires detailed dismantling, specialized testing, safer controlled working conditions or more complex component repair, workshop service may be recommended. Applicable pickup, return and transportation arrangements are discussed separately.
No Single Fixed Price Applies to Every Not-Heating Fault
The final repair cost depends on the diagnosed fault, microwave type and model, labour required, replacement parts, workshop requirements and applicable transportation. Within normal Kathmandu Valley coverage, the compulsory technician visit and initial inspection charge is NPR 500. Repair labour, parts, workshop service and transportation are separate.
Do Not Open a Microwave to Test the Heating Circuit Yourself
Microwave ovens can contain hazardous high-voltage components capable of retaining electrical energy even after unplugging. Internal testing of the heating and high-voltage systems should be performed only by appropriately trained technicians. If the microwave also produces smoke, persistent sparking, a burning smell, severe overheating or repeated electrical tripping, stop using it and arrange inspection.
Book Microwave Heating Fault Inspection
Send your microwave brand, model number if available, exact location and a description of the heating problem. A technician can inspect the fault before recommending applicable repair or replacement parts.
Microwave Not Turning On or No Power Repair
If your microwave is completely dead, has a blank display, will not start or loses power during operation, the cause should be properly diagnosed. Power faults can involve several electrical, protection, safety and control systems, so one symptom should not be used to assume which component has failed.
A Dead Microwave Does Not Automatically Need a New Control Board
A microwave with no display or response may have a problem involving the incoming power condition, protection components, internal connections, door-safety switching, wiring or electronic controls. The relevant systems should be inspected before deciding whether a PCB, control board or another component actually requires repair or replacement.
Microwave No-Power Symptoms We Can Inspect
No display, light, sound or other response when the appliance is connected and operated normally.
The display does not illuminate or show the expected information.
Power appears to be present, but the cooking cycle does not begin when the controls are used.
The appliance starts normally but loses power or stops before completing the selected cycle.
A breaker or other electrical protection trips when the microwave is connected, started or operated.
The microwave works sometimes but loses power, resets or behaves unpredictably at other times.
What May Need to Be Checked for a No-Power Fault
The exact diagnostic procedure depends on the model, appliance condition and reported behavior.
The applicable incoming electrical supply and power connection may need assessment.
Relevant protective devices and electrical components may need professional testing.
Door switches, interlocks and related safety functions may affect whether the microwave can start.
Internal connections, wiring and applicable electronic controls may require diagnosis.
No Power Does Not Automatically Mean PCB Failure
A control-board fault is one possible cause of some microwave power problems, but it should not be assumed simply because the appliance is blank or unresponsive. Other electrical, protection, wiring and door-safety conditions should be considered before an expensive control-board replacement is recommended.
Do Not Keep Resetting the Power and Repeatedly Trying the Microwave
If electrical protection repeatedly trips when the microwave is connected or operated, stop repeatedly attempting to use the appliance. A recurring electrical fault should be inspected before further operation. If there is also smoke, a burning smell, visible damage or severe overheating, stop using the microwave and disconnect it only if safe to do so.
A Microwave That Will Not Start May Have a Door-Related Fault
Microwave ovens use safety systems associated with correct door closure. A problem involving the door, latch, alignment, switches or related mechanism can affect operation. Never bypass, defeat or modify microwave door-safety systems to make the appliance run.
How We Approach a Microwave That Will Not Turn On
Contact us and share your exact service location.
Tell us whether it is completely dead, intermittent or tripping power.
The technician assesses relevant systems according to the reported symptom.
Applicable repair, parts and expected cost are discussed.
Approved work is completed and applicable operation checked.
Detailed Electrical Diagnosis May Require Workshop Service
Initial inspection can begin at a serviceable customer location. If the microwave requires detailed dismantling, specialized electrical or electronic testing, complex component work or extended observation, workshop repair may be recommended. Applicable pickup, return and transportation costs are discussed separately.
NPR 500 Compulsory Visit & Initial Inspection
Within normal Kathmandu Valley coverage, the compulsory technician visit and initial inspection charge is NPR 500. The charge remains payable once the technician visits even if you decide not to proceed with repair. Repair labour, replacement parts, workshop work and applicable transportation are separate.
Do Not Open a Dead Microwave to Search for the Fault Yourself
A microwave can contain hazardous high-voltage components capable of retaining electrical energy even after unplugging. A microwave appearing completely dead does not mean its internal electrical systems are safe to touch. Internal diagnosis and repair should be performed by appropriately trained technicians.
Book Microwave Electrical Fault Inspection
Send your microwave brand, model number if available, exact location and a description of the power problem. Tell us if the microwave is completely dead, has a blank display, switches off during use or repeatedly trips the electrical supply.
Microwave Sparking, Unusual Noise & Burning Smell Repair
Sparking, burning smells, smoke, abnormal overheating or unusual sounds can have different causes. Some of these symptoms can also indicate a potential safety problem, so a microwave that behaves abnormally should not be repeatedly operated while waiting for the problem to disappear.
Repeated Sparking, Smoke or Burning Smell Should Not Be Ignored
Stop using the microwave if it produces persistent electrical sparking, smoke, a strong or recurring burning smell, severe overheating or another serious electrical symptom. Disconnect the appliance only if it is safe to do so and arrange inspection. Do not remove the outer cover to investigate the internal fault yourself.
Problems That May Require Microwave Inspection
The symptom helps guide diagnosis, but the actual cause should be identified before repair or component replacement.
Visible sparks or electrical arcing occur inside the cooking cavity while the appliance is operating.
An unusual or persistent burning smell develops during or shortly after microwave operation.
Buzzing, grinding, rattling, humming or another new abnormal sound occurs while the microwave is running.
Smoke appears from the cooking cavity, ventilation area or another part of the appliance.
The appliance becomes unusually hot or shows other abnormal heat-related behavior during operation.
Unusual vibration, movement or rattling develops during the cooking cycle.
Different Systems May Need Inspection
Food residue, contamination, damaged surfaces or other cavity conditions may need assessment.
The tray, roller, coupler, drive mechanism and related parts can contribute to some abnormal sounds.
Applicable fan, airflow and cooling conditions may need inspection when noise or overheating occurs.
Internal electrical components may require professional diagnosis when serious symptoms occur.
Why Is My Microwave Sparking?
Microwave sparking can have different causes. Metallic objects or unsuitable cookware, accumulated food contamination, damaged cooking-cavity surfaces or an internal component problem may contribute. If abnormal sparking continues after obvious unsuitable items are removed, stop using the microwave and arrange inspection rather than repeatedly testing it.
Determine Whether the Smell Is From Food or the Appliance
Burned food can produce a strong smell, but a persistent electrical or appliance-related burning odor should be treated differently. If the source is not clearly food, the smell returns during normal operation, smoke appears or the appliance overheats, stop using the microwave and arrange inspection.
A Noisy Microwave Does Not Automatically Mean Motor Failure
Unusual noise may come from the turntable system, cooling or ventilation components, vibration, mechanical parts or other internal systems depending on when and how the sound occurs. The appliance should be assessed before assuming that a particular motor or component requires replacement.
Serious Symptoms Should Be Inspected Before Further Operation
Stop operating the appliance and arrange inspection when serious or recurring symptoms suggest an electrical or safety problem.
Some Electrical & Noise Faults May Require Workshop Diagnosis
Initial assessment can begin at a serviceable customer location. When the fault requires detailed dismantling, specialized electrical testing, extended observation or safer controlled repair conditions, workshop service may be recommended. Applicable pickup, return and transportation charges are discussed separately.
NPR 500 Compulsory Technician Visit & Initial Inspection
Within normal Kathmandu Valley coverage, the technician visit and initial inspection charge is NPR 500. It remains payable once the technician visits even if repair is declined. Repair labour, replacement parts, workshop service and applicable pickup, return or transportation charges are separate.
Do Not Remove the Microwave Cover to Investigate Sparking or Noise
Microwave ovens can contain hazardous high-voltage components capable of retaining electrical energy even after unplugging. Internal inspection, electrical testing and high-voltage repair should be performed only by appropriately trained technicians. A serious microwave fault should not be investigated by touching internal components yourself.
Book Microwave Fault Inspection
Tell us whether the microwave is sparking, making unusual noise, producing a burning smell, overheating or showing another abnormal symptom. Send the brand, model number if available and your exact location so technician availability can be checked.
Microwave Door, Turntable, Buttons & Display Repair
Not every microwave problem involves heating or complete power failure. Faults involving the turntable, door, latch, safety switching, buttons, control panel or display can also prevent normal operation. These problems should be inspected before deciding which component needs adjustment, repair or replacement.
One Operating Problem Does Not Automatically Identify the Failed Part
A turntable that does not rotate does not automatically mean the turntable motor has failed. A microwave that will not start after closing the door does not automatically mean the control board is faulty. Diagnosis should consider the relevant mechanical, safety, electrical and control systems before parts are replaced.
Microwave Operating Faults We Can Inspect
The microwave operates but the glass tray remains stationary or rotates inconsistently.
The microwave door does not close, align or latch as it normally should.
The appliance appears powered but the cooking cycle does not begin after the door is closed.
Some or all keypad, touch-panel or control inputs fail to respond normally.
The appliance may have power but the display remains blank or does not show expected information.
Sections of the display may be dim, incomplete, intermittent or difficult to read.
The latch mechanism feels loose, damaged, difficult to close or does not engage normally.
Controls may work sometimes but become unresponsive, reset or behave unpredictably at other times.
Microwave Turntable Not Rotating?
Depending on the microwave design, the tray position, roller guide, coupler, drive mechanism, motor or related components may need assessment. A stationary turntable should not automatically result in motor replacement without checking the other relevant parts first.
Door Not Closing or Latching Correctly?
Proper door closure is important because microwave ovens use safety systems associated with the door. Depending on the problem, alignment, latch components, switches or related mechanisms may require inspection. Never force a damaged door closed or bypass a microwave door-safety system.
Microwave Buttons or Touch Controls Not Working?
Keypad or touch-control problems can involve the user interface, connections or electronic control systems depending on the microwave design. A button problem does not automatically mean the complete PCB or control board must be replaced. Diagnosis should determine the actual repair requirement first.
Blank, Dim or Intermittent Microwave Display?
A display fault may involve power, connections, the display system or related electronic controls. The technician should consider the appliance's other operating functions and relevant systems before deciding whether a display or control component requires repair or replacement.
Avoid Assuming Which Microwave Part Has Failed
Tray, roller, coupler, drive and related parts may require inspection.
Alignment, latch and related safety components may need assessment.
Interface, connections and control systems may require diagnosis.
Relevant power, display and control conditions should be checked first.
Some Control & Door Repairs May Require Workshop Service
Initial inspection can begin at a serviceable customer location. Detailed electronic testing, extensive dismantling, door-mechanism work or repairs requiring extended testing may be better completed in a workshop. Applicable pickup, return and transportation arrangements are discussed separately.
NPR 500 Compulsory Visit & Initial Inspection
Within normal Kathmandu Valley coverage, the compulsory technician visit and initial inspection charge is NPR 500. It remains payable once the technician visits even if repair is declined. Repair labour, replacement parts, workshop service and applicable transportation charges are separate.
Never Bypass Microwave Door-Safety Systems
Do not bypass door switches, modify safety mechanisms, force a damaged door closed or remove the microwave cover to make the appliance operate. Microwave ovens can contain hazardous high-voltage components capable of retaining electrical energy even after unplugging. Door and internal electrical faults should be inspected by appropriately trained technicians.

Send Your Microwave Model Number When Available
If the model number is safely visible on the appliance label, send it when requesting service. It can help identify the microwave design and prepare for diagnosis. Do not dismantle the appliance or remove its outer cover simply to locate the model number.
Parts Availability Depends on Brand & Model
Original or genuine parts may be used when they are available and appropriate. Compatible replacement parts may also be considered when suitable, available and agreed with the customer. Not every microwave part is immediately available, so diagnosis should come before ordering or selecting replacement components.
Same-Day Microwave Service May Be Available
Same-day inspection or repair is subject to exact location, booking time, technician workload and technician availability. Repairs requiring specific parts, detailed workshop work or extended testing may take additional time. Calls, WhatsApp and online booking requests can be received 24/7, but this does not mean physical technician visits are available at every hour.
Is Your Microwave Still Under Manufacturer Warranty?
If your microwave is still covered by a manufacturer warranty, check the manufacturer's current warranty terms and official service network before arranging independent repair. Opening or repairing an appliance through an independent service provider may affect manufacturer warranty coverage depending on the applicable terms.
Do Not Open the Microwave to Identify Internal Parts
Microwave ovens can contain hazardous high-voltage components capable of retaining electrical energy even after unplugging. Do not remove the outer cover to identify components, check a model-specific part or attempt internal diagnosis. Internal repair should be handled by appropriately trained technicians.

Book Home or Office Microwave Repair
Send your exact location, microwave brand, model number if available and a short description of the problem. We can check technician availability for your serviceable location in Kathmandu Valley.
Microwave Diagnosis, Parts & Repair Cost
Microwave repair cost depends on the actual diagnosed fault, appliance type, model, labour requirement, replacement parts and whether workshop service is necessary. Because different faults can produce similar symptoms, we do not use one fixed repair price for every microwave problem.
Inspect the Microwave Before Deciding the Repair Cost
A microwave that does not heat may not need the same repair as another microwave showing the same symptom. Likewise, a dead microwave does not automatically need a control board. Diagnosis helps identify the actual repair requirement before labour and replacement-part costs are determined.
Main Factors That Can Change the Final Repair Price
Different electrical, heating, mechanical and control faults require different repair work.
Solo, grill, convection and inverter models can have different designs and repair requirements.
Cost can vary according to the component required and its availability for the specific model.
Simple adjustments and complex electronic or high-voltage repairs do not require the same amount of work.
Detailed dismantling, testing or complex repair may require workshop service rather than onsite work.
Applicable transport charges can vary according to appliance requirements and customer location.
Compulsory Technician Visit Charge in Normal Kathmandu Valley Coverage
The NPR 500 charge applies when the technician visits the customer location for initial microwave inspection within normal Kathmandu Valley coverage. It remains payable even if you decide not to proceed with repair after diagnosis. Repair labour, replacement parts, workshop work and applicable transportation are separate.
Why We Do Not Quote Every Microwave Repair From the Symptom Alone
Symptoms such as not heating, no power, sparking, unusual noise or a non-rotating turntable can have more than one possible cause. Giving a definite repair price before identifying the actual fault can be misleading. Inspection allows the technician to determine what work and parts are actually applicable.
Original / Genuine & Compatible Parts May Be Used
Original or genuine replacement parts may be used when they are available and appropriate for the microwave. Suitable compatible parts may also be considered when appropriate or when an original part is unavailable, subject to availability and customer choice. Parts should be selected according to the diagnosed fault and microwave model.
Repair Should Proceed After the Work & Cost Are Discussed
After diagnosis, the technician can explain the identified problem, applicable repair, parts requirement and expected cost based on the information available. You can then decide whether to approve the repair. The compulsory visit and initial inspection charge remains payable even when repair is declined.
From Inspection to Final Repair
Share the microwave problem and exact location.
Initial inspection begins at the confirmed service location.
Relevant systems are checked according to the symptom.
Applicable labour, parts and expected cost are discussed.
Repair proceeds after customer approval where practical.
Workshop Repair & Transportation May Be Separate
If the microwave requires detailed dismantling, specialized testing, complex electronic work or extended observation, workshop repair may be recommended. Applicable workshop labour, pickup, return or transportation charges depend on the work, appliance and location and should be discussed before the next step proceeds.
What the NPR 500 Visit Charge Does & Does Not Cover
Technician Visit & Initial Inspection
The charge covers the technician visit and initial inspection within normal Kathmandu Valley service coverage. It is compulsory once the technician attends the confirmed location.
Repair, Parts, Workshop & Transportation
Repair labour, replacement components, detailed workshop service, pickup, return and applicable transportation are not automatically included in the NPR 500 visit charge.
An Estimate Can Change if Additional Faults Are Discovered
An initial estimate is based on the diagnosed condition and information available at that stage. If further dismantling or testing reveals an additional problem, the repair requirement or cost may change. Any significant additional work should be discussed before proceeding.
Warranty Depends on the Specific Repair & Part
There is no single universal warranty period for every microwave repair. Any applicable service or part warranty depends on the diagnosed fault, work performed, replacement component and the terms applicable to that particular repair. Ask about the applicable terms for your specific job.
Start With Microwave Fault Diagnosis
Send your microwave brand, model number if available, problem description and exact service location. We can arrange an initial inspection so the actual repair requirement can be identified before applicable repair and parts costs are discussed.
Doorstep vs Workshop Microwave Repair Process
Microwave repair can often begin with inspection at your home, office or other serviceable location. Whether the complete repair can be performed onsite depends on the diagnosed fault, tools and parts required, safety considerations and the amount of testing or dismantling needed.
We Do Not Automatically Take Every Microwave to the Workshop
The technician first assesses the reported problem and determines the appropriate repair path. Some faults can be handled at the customer location when safe and practical. More complex electrical, electronic or internal repairs may require workshop conditions for detailed diagnosis, repair and testing.

Applicable repair, parts and expected cost are discussed with you.
Approved work proceeds onsite or at the workshop as appropriate.
Doorstep Repair or Workshop Repair
The correct option depends on the diagnosed fault rather than a fixed rule for every microwave.
Repair at Your Location When Safe & Practical
Some microwave faults can be diagnosed and repaired at the customer location when the technician has suitable tools, applicable parts and a safe working environment.
Complex Faults May Need Controlled Workshop Service
A microwave may be recommended for workshop service when the repair requires more extensive dismantling, specialized testing, electronic work or additional observation.
The Diagnosed Fault Determines the Appropriate Repair Location
We do not promise that every microwave fault can be repaired at the customer's location. The technician considers the fault, appliance condition, safety, tools, parts and testing requirements before recommending onsite or workshop repair. This helps avoid attempting complex work in an unsuitable environment.
What Happens After Workshop Service Is Recommended?
The reason for further workshop diagnosis or repair is explained.
Applicable pickup or transport arrangements can be discussed.
Additional dismantling or testing is completed where needed.
Approved repair is completed and applicable operation is checked.
The microwave can be returned according to the agreed arrangement.
Microwave Transportation Charges Can Vary
Pickup and return are not automatically included in the technician visit charge. Applicable transportation costs depend on the customer's location, appliance requirements and service arrangement. Any relevant pickup or return charge should be discussed when workshop service is recommended.
Applicable Functions Are Checked After Repair
After an approved repair, relevant microwave functions are checked according to the work performed and the original fault. The exact testing procedure depends on the appliance and repair. Testing does not mean every unrelated future fault can be predicted or prevented.
Workshop Repair May Take Longer Than an Onsite Repair
Repair time depends on the fault, required parts, testing, workshop workload and appliance condition. Same-day service may be possible for some jobs, but it is not guaranteed. Repairs requiring specific parts, complex work or extended testing can require additional time.
NPR 500 Compulsory Technician Visit & Initial Inspection
Within normal Kathmandu Valley coverage, the compulsory technician visit and initial inspection charge is NPR 500. It remains payable once the technician visits even if you do not proceed with repair. Repair labour, parts, workshop work, pickup, return and applicable transportation are separate.
Workshop Service May Be Recommended for Safety as Well as Convenience
Microwave ovens can contain hazardous high-voltage components capable of retaining electrical energy even after unplugging. Complex internal work should not be attempted simply to avoid workshop service. Where appropriate, a controlled workshop environment can provide safer conditions for detailed dismantling, diagnosis, repair and testing.
Book Microwave Repair in Kathmandu Valley
Send your exact location, microwave brand, model number if available and a description of the problem. The technician can begin with inspection and determine whether onsite repair is practical or workshop service is more appropriate.
Microwave Repair in Kathmandu, Lalitpur & Bhaktapur
Request independent microwave repair service across serviceable areas of Kathmandu Valley. Our technician coverage includes Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and nearby locations, subject to exact address, travel requirements, workload and technician availability.
Send Your Exact Location to Check Technician Availability
You do not need to find a physical repair branch in your own neighborhood before requesting service. For serviceable locations, a technician can visit your home, office or eligible business location for initial microwave inspection. Send your exact area or a nearby landmark so availability can be checked.

The locations below are examples of technician service areas and are not intended to represent separate physical branches. Nearby areas may also be serviceable.

Listed Areas Are Technician Coverage Areas, Not Separate Branches
References to Samakhushi, Gongabu, Patan, Jawalakhel, Suryabinayak, Thimi and other locations describe areas where technician service may be available. They do not mean that we operate a physical office or microwave repair branch in every location listed on this page.
Looking for a Microwave Technician Near Your Location?
If you are searching for microwave repair near your home, office or business in Kathmandu Valley, contact us with your exact location and appliance problem. Technician availability can then be checked for your area instead of relying only on whether a neighborhood name appears in a service-area list.
Same-Day Microwave Service May Be Available, but Is Not Guaranteed
Same-day service depends on your exact location, booking time, current workload and technician availability. A technician visit does not guarantee that every repair will also be completed the same day. Parts requirements, workshop service or additional testing may extend the repair time.

Why Choose Our Microwave Repair Service?
Our approach focuses on practical fault diagnosis, clear repair discussion and convenient technician service across serviceable areas of Kathmandu Valley. We repair multiple microwave brands independently and recommend work according to the actual appliance condition rather than assuming a particular component has failed from the symptom alone.
Find the Fault First, Then Decide the Appropriate Repair
Microwave symptoms can be misleading. A no-heat problem does not automatically mean magnetron failure, no power does not automatically mean PCB failure and a stopped turntable does not automatically mean motor failure. We begin with inspection so the repair decision can be based on the diagnosed condition.
Practical Microwave Repair for Kathmandu Valley Customers
Our technician team has experience working with common home and office appliance faults and repair requirements.
Service requests can be assigned according to technician availability, location and the type of appliance problem.
We independently inspect many commonly used microwave brands and different microwave types.
Initial inspection can begin at serviceable homes, offices and eligible business locations.
We focus on identifying the actual fault before recommending applicable repair or replacement parts.
Repair can be completed onsite when practical, while complex work may be moved to a workshop.
Applicable repair, parts and expected costs can be discussed before approved repair work proceeds.
Technician service is available across serviceable areas of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.
Appliance Repair Experience Applied to Microwave Diagnosis
Our technicians have 3+ years of appliance service experience. Microwave repair still requires model-specific diagnosis, so experience is used together with inspection of the actual appliance rather than treating every microwave fault as the same problem.
We Avoid Replacing Parts Based Only on a Symptom
Similar symptoms can come from different faults. For example, a microwave that does not heat, does not turn on, sparks or makes unusual noise can require very different repairs. Proper inspection helps reduce unnecessary assumptions about which component should be replaced.
Original / Genuine or Suitable Compatible Parts
Original or genuine replacement parts may be used when available and appropriate. Suitable compatible parts may also be considered depending on availability, appliance compatibility and customer choice. The appropriate part should be selected after diagnosis of the actual fault.

Common Microwave Service Questions Answered
Microwave symptoms do not always identify the failed component. These answers explain how our independent repair process works, but the exact fault, repair requirement, cost and parts needed can only be determined after considering the actual appliance condition.
How much does microwave repair cost in Kathmandu Valley?
There is no single fixed price for every microwave repair. Cost depends on the diagnosed fault, microwave type and model, labour, replacement parts and whether workshop service is required. The compulsory technician visit and initial inspection charge within normal Kathmandu Valley coverage is NPR 500.
Is the NPR 500 technician visit charge compulsory?
Yes. Within normal Kathmandu Valley coverage, NPR 500 is the compulsory technician visit and initial inspection charge. It remains payable once the technician visits even if you decide not to proceed with repair.
Is repair labour included in the NPR 500 visit charge?
No. Repair labour, replacement parts, workshop work and applicable pickup, return or transportation charges are separate from the NPR 500 technician visit and initial inspection charge.
Does a microwave not heating mean the magnetron is damaged?
Not necessarily. The magnetron is one possible part involved in microwave heating, but other electrical, high-voltage, safety or control-related faults can also affect heating. Diagnosis should be completed before deciding that a magnetron needs replacement.
Why does my microwave run but not heat food?
Several faults can produce this symptom. The heating system, high-voltage circuit, door-safety system and related electrical or control components may need inspection. The symptom alone does not identify one specific failed part.
Does a dead microwave automatically need a new PCB?
No. A microwave with no power can have problems involving the incoming supply, protection components, internal connections, door-safety system, wiring or electronic controls. The actual cause should be diagnosed before replacing a control board.
Why is my microwave sparking inside?
Sparking can occur for different reasons, including unsuitable metallic items, food contamination, damaged cavity surfaces or an internal fault. Persistent or abnormal electrical sparking should not be ignored and the microwave should be inspected before further use.
What should I do if my microwave smells like it is burning?
Stop using the microwave if there is a strong or persistent burning smell, smoke, severe overheating or another serious electrical symptom. Disconnect it only if this can be done safely and arrange professional inspection before operating it again.
Why is my microwave making a loud or unusual noise?
Unusual sounds can come from different mechanical, ventilation, turntable, electrical or internal systems. Noise alone does not prove that one particular component has failed, so the source should be diagnosed first.
Does a microwave turntable not rotating mean the motor is faulty?
Not always. The tray position, roller guide, coupler, drive mechanism, motor or related control system may need inspection depending on the microwave design. The motor should not automatically be replaced based only on this symptom.
Can you repair microwave buttons or touch controls?
Applicable keypad, touch-panel and control faults can be inspected. The cause may involve the user interface, connections or electronic control system depending on the model. Repair feasibility depends on diagnosis and parts availability.
Can you repair a microwave with a blank display?
A blank, dim or intermittent display can be inspected. Relevant power, display, connection and control conditions may need to be checked before determining whether repair or component replacement is appropriate.
Can you repair a microwave door that does not close properly?
Door alignment, latch components and related safety systems can be inspected. Do not force a damaged microwave door closed or bypass its safety switches to make the appliance operate.
Do you provide home microwave repair?
Yes. Initial microwave inspection can be requested at serviceable homes across Kathmandu Valley. Applicable repairs may be completed onsite when safe and practical. More complex work may require workshop service.
Do you provide office and business microwave repair?
Yes. Eligible offices, businesses and institutions can request microwave inspection depending on appliance type, location, repair requirements and technician availability.
Which microwave brands do you repair?
We provide independent multi-brand microwave service and can inspect many commonly used brands, including LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, Bosch, Haier, CG, Hisense, Panasonic, Midea, Godrej and others, subject to model support, fault type and parts availability.
Do you repair solo, grill and convection microwaves?
We can inspect different microwave types, including many solo, grill, convection and inverter microwave ovens. Repair feasibility depends on the specific model, diagnosed fault, appliance condition and parts availability.
Do you use original microwave replacement parts?
Original or genuine parts may be used when available and appropriate. Suitable compatible replacement parts may also be considered depending on availability, appliance compatibility and customer choice.
Can my microwave be repaired at home?
Some repairs can be completed at the customer location when safe and practical. Faults requiring detailed dismantling, specialized testing, complex electronic work or extended observation may require workshop service.
Do you provide microwave pickup and return service?
Pickup and return may be arranged when workshop service is required. Applicable transportation charges vary according to the appliance, customer location and service arrangement and are separate from the initial visit charge.
Do you offer same-day microwave repair?
Same-day service may be available but is not guaranteed. It depends on your exact location, booking time, workload, technician availability, parts requirements and whether the microwave needs workshop repair or additional testing.
Is microwave repair available 24/7?
Booking requests can be submitted by phone, WhatsApp or online at any time. This does not mean that physical technician visits or repair work are available at every hour. Visit scheduling depends on location and technician availability.
Where do you provide microwave repair service?
Technician service is available across serviceable areas of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, including many nearby Kathmandu Valley locations. Send your exact area or landmark so technician availability can be checked.
Do you have a microwave repair branch in every listed area?
No. Area names on this page describe technician service coverage and do not mean we operate a physical branch in every neighborhood. Doorstep service availability is checked using the customer's exact location.
Is there a warranty on microwave repair?
Any applicable service or part warranty depends on the specific repair, work performed and replacement component. There is no single universal warranty period covering every microwave repair.
Can I open the microwave and check the fault myself?
Internal microwave diagnosis is not recommended for untrained users. Microwave ovens can contain hazardous high-voltage components capable of retaining electrical energy even after the appliance has been unplugged.
What information should I provide when booking microwave repair?
Send your name, phone number, exact service location, microwave brand, model number if available and a short description of the problem. Photos may also help when there is visible external damage or an error shown on the display.
What if my microwave is still under manufacturer warranty?
Check the manufacturer's current warranty terms and official service network before arranging independent repair. Opening or repairing an appliance through an independent service provider may affect manufacturer warranty coverage depending on the applicable terms.
Stop Using the Microwave When Serious Electrical Symptoms Appear
Stop using the appliance if you notice smoke, persistent electrical sparking, a strong recurring burning smell, severe overheating, repeated electrical tripping, a damaged power cord or another serious electrical symptom. Disconnect the appliance only when it is safe to do so. Do not remove the outer cover or attempt internal high-voltage repair yourself.

Independent Multi-Brand Appliance Repair Service
Authorised Services Center Nepal is an independent multi-brand appliance repair service. We are not an authorized service center, agent, or affiliate of the appliance manufacturers referenced on this website. Brand names and trademarks are used only to identify the products we service.
Repair suitability, parts availability, completion time and any applicable service or parts warranty depend on the specific microwave, diagnosed fault and work performed. If your appliance is still covered by a manufacturer warranty, check the manufacturer's current warranty terms and official service options before arranging independent repair, as independent opening or repair may affect manufacturer warranty coverage.
