OTHER FRIDGE FAULTS
DIAGNOSIS BEFORE MAJOR REPAIR

We Do Not Assume Every Cooling Problem Needs a Compressor or Refrigerant

A refrigerator can show poor cooling for several different reasons. Diagnosis helps determine which system actually requires attention before major parts replacement or sealed-system work is recommended.

NOT COOLING Not Automatically Compressor Failure

Airflow, controls, sensors, electrical conditions and other cooling-system problems can affect cooling.

POOR COOLING Not Automatically “Gas Filling”

Refrigerant is the working fluid of an applicable sealed cooling system and is not a routine consumable.

NO POWER / ERROR Not Automatically PCB Failure

Power supply, wiring, sensors, connections and controls may also produce electrical symptoms.

WATER LEAK Not Every Leak Has the Same Cause

Drainage, condensation and model-specific systems can create water in different areas of a refrigerator.

REFRIGERATOR SYSTEMS & COMPONENTS

COMMON FRIDGE PROBLEMS IN KATHMANDU

Common Refrigerator Problems We Repair in Kathmandu

Refrigerator problems can involve cooling, freezing, airflow, defrost, drainage, temperature-control, electrical and mechanical systems. Because different faults can create similar symptoms, we inspect the relevant refrigerator system before recommending repair or replacement of major components.

01

Fridge Not Cooling

The refrigerator is running but the fresh-food compartment remains warm, cools slowly or cannot maintain the expected temperature. Cooling, airflow, controls and other relevant systems may require diagnosis.

02

Freezer Not Freezing

The freezer may feel cool but fail to freeze food properly, take unusually long to freeze or lose its normal freezing performance.

03

Refrigerator Water Leakage

Water may appear inside the refrigerator, beneath the appliance or around another area. Drainage, condensation and model-specific water systems may require inspection.

04

Excessive Frost or Ice Buildup

Heavy or recurring frost may affect airflow, freezer performance or access to stored food and can indicate an issue requiring further diagnosis.

05

Fridge Is Not Turning On

A completely dead refrigerator, intermittent power or failure to start can involve the power supply, connections, controls or other electrical components.

06

Unusual Refrigerator Noise

Clicking, rattling, buzzing, humming or vibration that is unusual for the appliance may require inspection of the relevant mechanical or electrical system.

07

Fridge Running Continuously

A refrigerator that appears to run for unusually long periods may have a temperature, airflow, sealing, environmental or cooling-performance issue.

08

Refrigerator Too Cold or Freezing Food

Food freezing in the refrigerator compartment or abnormally low temperatures can be associated with temperature controls, sensors, airflow or model-specific components.

09

Fridge Door Not Sealing Properly

Door alignment, gasket condition or other sealing problems can allow warm air to enter and may contribute to temperature or frost problems.

10

Multiple Refrigerator Problems

A fridge may have more than one symptom, such as weak cooling with unusual noise, frost with poor airflow, or leakage together with temperature problems. Combined symptoms should be diagnosed together.

IMPORTANT REFRIGERATOR DIAGNOSIS

The Visible Symptom Does Not Always Identify the Failed Part

Avoid deciding that a refrigerator needs a compressor, refrigerant refill, PCB or another expensive component based only on one symptom. The relevant systems should be inspected first.

NOT COOLING Does Not Automatically Mean Compressor Failure

Poor cooling can involve airflow, temperature controls, electrical operation, defrost-related conditions or other parts of the cooling system.

POOR COOLING Does Not Automatically Mean “Gas Filling”

Refrigerant is the working fluid in an applicable sealed refrigeration system. It is not normally consumed during regular operation and should not be treated as routine topping-up maintenance.

NO POWER / ERROR Does Not Automatically Mean PCB Failure

Power supply, wiring, connections, sensors, switches and other controls can create similar electrical symptoms.

WATER UNDER FRIDGE Does Not Automatically Identify the Leak Source

Water may originate from drainage, condensation or another model-specific water path, so the source should be traced before repair.

WHEN BOOKING FRIDGE REPAIR

Describe the Symptom Instead of Guessing the Part

Giving us clear symptom information helps us understand the service request before the technician visit. You do not need to know which component has failed.

01 Cooling Behaviour

Tell us whether there is no cooling, weak cooling, intermittent cooling or excessive cooling.

02 Freezer Behaviour

Explain whether the freezer is not freezing, partly freezing or developing excessive frost.

03 Other Symptoms

FRIDGE NOT COOLING IN KATHMANDU

Fridge Not Cooling in Kathmandu? Diagnosis & Repair

A refrigerator that is not cooling properly can have several possible causes. We provide independent fridge inspection and repair in Kathmandu and use a diagnosis-first approach before recommending compressor work, refrigerant work, electrical repair or replacement of other refrigerator components.

IMPORTANT COOLING DIAGNOSIS

Fridge Not Cooling Does Not Automatically Mean Compressor Failure

The compressor is only one part of a refrigerator cooling system. Depending on the fridge design, poor cooling can also involve temperature controls, sensors, fans, airflow, defrost-related conditions, electrical operation, door sealing or other cooling-system problems.

01 Temperature & Controls

Settings, thermostats, sensors and applicable controls can affect cooling performance.

02 Airflow & Fan Operation

Restricted airflow or applicable fan problems can affect temperature distribution in some refrigerator designs.

03 Electrical Operation

Wiring, connections, controls and related electrical conditions may affect refrigerator operation.

04 Cooling System

Compressor and sealed-system conditions are considered when supported by proper diagnosis.

POSSIBLE CAUSES OF POOR FRIDGE COOLING

Why Is Your Refrigerator Not Cooling Properly?

The actual cause depends on the refrigerator model and symptoms. These are examples of areas that may require inspection and should not be treated as a diagnosis without checking the appliance.

01

Temperature Control Problem

A thermostat, sensor, setting or other applicable temperature-control component may affect cooling.

02

Airflow or Fan Problem

Some refrigerators depend on fans and internal airflow to distribute cold air between compartments.

03

Excessive Frost Buildup

Heavy frost or ice in relevant areas can interfere with normal airflow and cooling performance.

04

Door or Gasket Condition

A door that does not close or seal correctly can allow warm air to enter and reduce temperature stability.

05

Electrical or Control Fault

Electrical connections, sensors, controls or other components can interfere with normal refrigerator operation.

06

Cooling-System Condition

Compressor or sealed-system conditions may cause poor cooling, but they should be confirmed through diagnosis rather than assumed.

REFRIGERANT & “GAS FILLING”

Poor Cooling Does Not Automatically Mean the Fridge Needs “Gas Filling”

Refrigerant is the working fluid inside an applicable sealed refrigeration system. Under normal conditions it circulates within that closed system and should not be treated as a routine consumable that simply needs regular topping up.

01 Diagnose Before Refrigerant Work

Poor cooling should first be diagnosed rather than automatically adding refrigerant.

02 Refrigerant Loss May Indicate a Problem

If refrigerant loss is suspected, the underlying sealed- system condition should also be considered.

03 Not Every Fridge Uses the Same System

Refrigerator designs, refrigerants and service procedures vary between models.

04 Sealed-System Work Requires Care

Refrigerant lines and sealed-system components should not be cut, punctured or opened as a DIY repair.

FRIDGE COOLING SYMPTOMS

Tell Us How the Refrigerator Is Cooling

Describing the exact behaviour is more useful than guessing which component has failed.

01 No Cooling

The refrigerator compartment remains warm and does not appear to cool normally.

02 Weak Cooling

The fridge becomes slightly cool but does not reach or maintain the expected temperature.

03 Intermittent Cooling

Cooling appears normal at times but becomes weak or stops at other times.

04 Freezer Cold but Fridge Warm

The freezer may remain cold while the refrigerator compartment does not cool properly.

BEFORE BOOKING A TECHNICIAN

Safe External Checks You Can Make

These simple observations may help describe the problem. Avoid dismantling panels, working on live electrical components or opening the sealed refrigeration system.

01 Check Power

Confirm that the refrigerator appears to have normal power and that the outlet is functioning.

FREEZER REPAIR IN KATHMANDU

Freezer Not Freezing in Kathmandu? Diagnosis & Repair

If the freezer compartment is not freezing properly, develops excessive ice or the refrigerator section is freezing food, the actual cause should be diagnosed before replacing parts. We provide independent refrigerator and freezer problem diagnosis for serviceable locations in Kathmandu.

DIAGNOSIS BEFORE PARTS REPLACEMENT

Freezer Not Freezing Does Not Automatically Mean Compressor Failure

Freezer performance can be affected by several systems. Depending on refrigerator design, temperature controls, sensors, airflow, fans, frost buildup, defrost operation, door sealing, electrical conditions and the cooling system may all need consideration.

01 Temperature Controls

Settings, sensors, thermostats and related controls may affect freezer temperature.

02 Airflow & Fan Operation

Restricted airflow or fan-related conditions can affect temperature distribution in applicable models.

03 Frost & Defrost System

Excessive ice in relevant areas can interfere with normal airflow and cooling.

04 Cooling System

Compressor and sealed-system conditions are considered when the diagnosis supports further cooling-system checks.

POSSIBLE FREEZER PROBLEMS

Why Is the Freezer Not Freezing Properly?

Similar freezer symptoms can result from different faults. The following are examples of areas that may require inspection depending on the refrigerator model and condition.

01

Temperature Control Problem

A setting, thermostat, sensor or applicable control may interfere with normal freezer temperature regulation.

02

Airflow Restriction

Restricted cold-air movement can affect freezer or refrigerator-compartment performance in applicable designs.

03

Fan-Related Problem

Some refrigerator designs use fans to circulate air and support consistent cooling between compartments.

04

Excessive Frost or Ice

Heavy ice accumulation may restrict airflow or indicate a defrost-related condition that requires diagnosis.

05

Door or Gasket Problem

Warm air entering through a door that does not seal correctly can contribute to temperature and frost problems.

06

Cooling-System Condition

A sealed-system or compressor-related condition is possible, but it should be confirmed rather than assumed from poor freezing alone.

FREEZER TOO WARM

Freezer Is Not Freezing Food Properly

Tell us how the freezer is behaving so the technician can inspect the relevant systems.

Food Is Soft or Partly Frozen

The compartment feels cold but cannot maintain normal freezing conditions.

Freezing Takes Too Long

Newly placed food requires much longer than expected to freeze.

Freezing Is Intermittent

The freezer performs normally at times but becomes too warm at other times.

REFRIGERATOR TOO COLD

Food Is Freezing Inside the Fridge Compartment

A refrigerator can also have the opposite problem, where food in the fresh-food compartment becomes excessively cold or freezes.

Temperature Setting

An accessible setting should be checked before assuming an internal component has failed.

Sensor or Temperature Control

Applicable sensors, thermostats or controls may affect temperature regulation.

Airflow Condition

Air distribution can affect how cold different areas become in some refrigerator designs.

EXCESSIVE FROST & ICE

Heavy Frost Buildup Should Be Diagnosed, Not Just Removed Repeatedly

Some frost can occur depending on refrigerator design and use, but persistent or excessive ice may interfere with normal operation. If heavy frost quickly returns after being cleared, an underlying condition may require inspection.

01 Ice Around Internal Areas

Heavy ice may affect airflow or indicate another condition requiring diagnosis.

02 Frost Keeps Returning

Repeated frost after clearing it may indicate that simply removing the ice does not address the cause.

03 Door-Sealing Condition

Warm, humid air entering through an imperfect seal can contribute to frost formation.

04 Defrost-Related Condition

Applicable defrost components may require inspection on refrigerator models that use automatic defrost systems.

FREEZER SYMPTOMS TO DESCRIBE

What Is Your Freezer Doing?

Describe the actual behaviour when booking rather than guessing which part needs replacement.

01 Not Freezing at All

The compartment may feel slightly cool but food does not freeze.

02 Weak Freezing

Some items freeze while others remain soft or partially frozen.

03 Heavy Frost

Ice or frost accumulates unusually heavily or returns repeatedly.

04 Fridge Section Freezing Food

Food stored outside the freezer becomes excessively cold or freezes unexpectedly.

SAFE EXTERNAL CHECKS

What You Can Check Before Booking Freezer Repair

These observations can help explain the problem without dismantling the refrigerator or working on electrical and refrigeration components.

01 Check Temperature Setting

Confirm that accessible temperature controls have not been accidentally changed.

02 Check Door Closure

Make sure stored items are not preventing the freezer or refrigerator door from closing.

03 Observe Frost

Note where heavy frost or ice appears and whether it returns after defrosting.

04 Compare Both Compartments

Tell us whether the freezer and fridge sections are both affected or only one compartment has a problem.

05 Listen for Unusual Noise

Mention any new clicking, buzzing, rattling or unusual operating sound.

06 Avoid Sharp Tools on Ice

Do not use knives or sharp tools to remove ice where they could damage internal surfaces or refrigeration tubing.

FREEZER DIAGNOSIS PROCESS

How We Approach Freezing & Frost Problems

The exact checks vary by refrigerator design, but the process begins with confirming the symptom before recommending repair or parts replacement.

01
Confirm Problem

Identify weak freezing, no freezing, excessive frost or overcooling.

02
Inspect Controls

Check relevant settings, sensors and controls according to refrigerator design.

03
Assess Airflow & Cooling

REFRIGERATOR LEAKAGE REPAIR IN KATHMANDU

Refrigerator Water Leakage, Drainage & Door Seal Repair in Kathmandu

Water inside or underneath a refrigerator does not always come from the same source. We inspect applicable drainage, condensation, door-sealing and model-specific water systems to identify the likely cause before recommending repair. We also diagnose refrigerator doors and gaskets that are not sealing correctly.

REFRIGERATOR WATER LEAKAGE

Water Under the Fridge Does Not Automatically Identify the Leak Source

Water seen underneath a refrigerator may have travelled from another area before reaching the floor. The visible location of the water is therefore not always the actual source of the problem.

Diagnosis First

Applicable drainage paths, condensation areas, internal water paths and surrounding conditions may need inspection before the source can be identified.

DOOR & GASKET PROBLEMS

A Poor Door Seal Can Affect More Than Just the Door

If a refrigerator door cannot close or seal correctly, warm and humid air may enter the compartment. Depending on the situation, this can contribute to temperature instability, condensation or frost-related symptoms.

Check Before Replacement

The gasket is not automatically the cause of every door- sealing problem. Door position, obstruction, alignment and gasket condition should be considered.

POSSIBLE REFRIGERATOR LEAK SOURCES

Where Can Refrigerator Water Leakage Come From?

Refrigerator designs vary, so not every model contains the same drainage or water-related components. The technician checks the areas relevant to the appliance and symptoms.

01

Drainage Path

An applicable drain path may require inspection if water is collecting where it normally should not.

02

Condensation

Moisture and condensation can develop under certain operating, sealing or environmental conditions.

03

Drain Pan Area

Where applicable, the drain or evaporation pan and related areas may require inspection.

04

Door Seal Condition

A door that does not seal properly may allow warm, humid air into the refrigerator and contribute to moisture.

05

Water Line or Dispenser System

Refrigerators equipped with a water supply, dispenser or ice-maker system may have additional water connections that require inspection.

06

Model-Specific Water Path

Other internal components or connections may be relevant depending on refrigerator design.

WHERE DO YOU SEE THE WATER?

Leak Location Helps With Refrigerator Diagnosis

When booking, tell us where you first notice the water. This does not confirm the cause, but it provides useful symptom information before inspection.

01 Water Inside the Fridge

Water collects on shelves, under drawers or in another internal area.

02 Water Under the Refrigerator

A puddle or recurring moisture appears on the floor beneath or around the appliance.

03 Water Near the Freezer

Moisture appears around the freezer area or after ice and frost accumulation.

04 Water Near Dispenser / Supply

On applicable models, leakage may appear near a dispenser, water connection or related system.

REFRIGERATOR DRAINAGE PROBLEMS

Recurring Water Should Be Traced Instead of Only Wiped Away

If water repeatedly returns inside or underneath the fridge, an applicable drainage or condensation-related condition may require inspection. Simply removing visible water does not necessarily correct the underlying cause.

01 Recurring Internal Water

Water repeatedly collecting inside the refrigerator may indicate that further inspection is appropriate.

02 Water After Frost Buildup

Leakage combined with unusual frost or ice can provide additional clues during diagnosis.

03 Drain Path Condition

Applicable drain passages and related areas can be checked where the refrigerator design permits.

04 Do Not Assume the Source

Water can travel before becoming visible, so diagnosis should identify where it actually originates.

FRIDGE DOOR & GASKET REPAIR

Refrigerator Door Not Closing or Sealing Properly?

A refrigerator door should close without stored items or other obstructions preventing normal sealing. If a door remains open, appears misaligned or the gasket is damaged, inspection can help identify the appropriate repair.

01 Door Does Not Close Properly

The door opens again, does not sit correctly or cannot close completely.

02 Loose or Damaged Gasket

The visible door seal may be loose, torn, deformed or damaged.

03 Condensation Near Door

Moisture around the door area may require consideration of sealing and operating conditions.

04 Frost Near Door Area

Unusual frost around an opening may be associated with warm air entering the compartment.

LEAKAGE & DOOR SYMPTOMS

Tell Us What You Notice Around the Refrigerator

Clear symptom information helps the technician understand whether the service request involves leakage, drainage, condensation, frost or door-sealing behaviour.

01 Water Inside Fridge

Moisture or standing water repeatedly appears in an internal area.

02 Water on Floor

A puddle appears under or around the refrigerator.

03 Door Not Sealing

The door does not remain fully closed or appears to have a sealing problem.

04 Moisture & Frost Together

Leakage or condensation occurs together with unusual ice or frost buildup.

LEAKAGE DIAGNOSIS PROCESS

How We Approach Refrigerator Water Leakage

The repair depends on where the water originates and which system is involved, so the first goal is to trace the symptom rather than replace parts immediately.

01
Confirm Symptom

Identify where and when water or moisture becomes visible.

02
Trace Water Path

Inspect relevant drainage, condensation or water-related areas according to fridge design.

03
Check Door & Seal

Consider door closure and gasket condition where relevant to the reported symptom.

04
Explain Repair

Explain the diagnosed issue and applicable repair before additional work proceeds.

05
Repair & Test

Complete approved work where practical and check the relevant operation afterward.

WATER & ELECTRICAL SAFETY

Take Extra Care When Refrigerator Leakage Reaches Electrical Areas

A refrigerator is an electrical appliance. Significant leakage should not be ignored, especially if water reaches the plug, outlet, wiring or other electrical areas.

01 Water Near Electricity

Avoid touching wet electrical areas and safely disconnect power where it can be done without risk.

02 Serious or Rapid Leakage

Stop normal use if a substantial leak is spreading around the appliance or electrical connections.

03 Smoke, Sparks or Shock

Do not continue operating the refrigerator if leakage is accompanied by serious electrical symptoms.

REFRIGERATOR ELECTRICAL REPAIR IN KATHMANDU

Refrigerator Electrical, Power, Temperature Control & Error Problems

We diagnose refrigerator electrical and control problems in serviceable Kathmandu locations, including fridges that do not turn on, operate intermittently, show error codes, trip the electrical supply or have inconsistent temperature control. Diagnosis is performed before recommending control-board or other component replacement.

IMPORTANT ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSIS

Refrigerator Has No Power? Do Not Automatically Assume the PCB Has Failed

A completely dead refrigerator can have several possible causes. Depending on the model, the technician may need to consider the external power supply, plug and cord, internal connections, switches, controls, protection components and electronic systems before identifying the fault.

01 External Power Supply

The outlet and incoming power condition should be considered before internal parts are blamed.

02 Power Cord & Connections

Plug, cable and applicable electrical connections may need inspection.

03 Sensors & Controls

Applicable temperature sensors and control systems can affect refrigerator operation.

04 Electronic Components

Control electronics are considered when symptoms and diagnosis support further testing.

COMMON ELECTRICAL & CONTROL PROBLEMS

Refrigerator Electrical Problems We Diagnose in Kathmandu

Electrical symptoms can overlap with cooling, sensor and control problems. The exact cause depends on refrigerator design, condition and the results of inspection.

01

Refrigerator Has No Power

The fridge appears completely dead, with no normal signs of operation.

02

Power Cuts In & Out

Refrigerator operation stops and returns intermittently or appears unstable.

03

Temperature Control Problem

The fridge does not appear to regulate temperature consistently or normally.

04

Display or Indicator Problem

An applicable display, indicator or control panel behaves unexpectedly or does not operate normally.

05

Error Code or Warning

The refrigerator displays a code, warning symbol or other model-specific fault indication.

06

Repeated Electrical Tripping

The refrigerator appears to contribute to repeated breaker or protective-device operation.

07

Internal Light Problem

Interior lighting does not operate normally where the model uses an internal light system.

08

Unusual Clicking or Electrical Noise

New clicking, buzzing or other unusual sounds occur during operation or attempted startup.

09

Burning Smell or Overheating

Electrical smell, smoke or abnormal heating requires prompt attention and safe handling.

REFRIGERATOR NOT TURNING ON

A Dead Fridge Requires Power-Path Diagnosis

Replacing a control board without confirming the fault can create unnecessary cost. The relevant electrical path should be considered according to the refrigerator design and reported symptoms.

01 Power Supply

Confirm whether a suitable power supply is reaching the refrigerator.

02 Plug & Power Cord

Visible damage or connection problems may require further inspection.

03 Internal Electrical Path

Applicable connections and electrical components may need testing after basic external checks.

04 Control Electronics

PCB or other electronic-control faults should be confirmed through diagnosis rather than assumed.

REFRIGERATOR ERROR CODES

An Error Code Does Not Automatically Mean the PCB Needs Replacement

Modern refrigerators may display model-specific fault codes or warning indicators. A code can help identify the system reporting a problem, but the actual cause still needs to be interpreted according to the exact brand and model.

01 Record the Exact Code

Note the complete letters, numbers or symbols shown on the display.

02 Share Brand & Model

The same-looking code can have different meanings across different refrigerator models.

03 Describe Other Symptoms

Tell us whether the fridge is also not cooling, making noise, leaking or operating intermittently.

04 Diagnose Before Replacement

Sensors, wiring, connections or other systems may be relevant depending on the specific fault indication.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL PROBLEMS

Refrigerator Temperature Not Staying Consistent?

Temperature-control symptoms should be considered together with cooling performance, freezer behaviour and any error or electrical symptoms.

01 Fridge Too Warm

The refrigerator cannot maintain an appropriately cold compartment temperature.

02 Fridge Too Cold

Food in the refrigerator compartment becomes excessively cold or freezes.

03 Temperature Changes

Cooling varies noticeably even though the setting has not intentionally been changed.

04 Control Does Not Respond

An accessible temperature control or display does not appear to respond normally.

WHAT TO TELL US WHEN BOOKING

Describe the Electrical Symptom, Not the Part You Think Has Failed

Clear symptom information helps avoid premature assumptions about PCB, sensor or other component replacement.

01 Completely Dead

Tell us if there are no lights, sounds, display or other normal signs of operation.

02 Intermittent Power

Mention if the refrigerator repeatedly stops and starts or loses power during operation.

03 Exact Error Code

Send the complete code or a clear photo of the display if available.

04 Breaker Trips

Tell us if a breaker or protective device operates when the refrigerator is connected or running.

ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSIS PROCESS

How We Approach Refrigerator Electrical Problems

The exact procedure depends on the appliance and symptom, but diagnosis comes before unnecessary electronic or electrical component replacement.

01
Confirm Symptom

Identify no-power, intermittent, control, temperature or error-code behaviour.

02
Check Power Path

Consider relevant supply, cord, connection and electrical conditions.

03
Diagnose Controls

Inspect applicable sensors, controls and electronics based on the symptoms.

04
Explain Repair

Discuss the diagnosed issue, required work and applicable cost before additional repair.

05
Repair & Test

Complete approved work where practical and check relevant operation afterward.

REFRIGERATOR ELECTRICAL SAFETY

Stop Using the Fridge if Serious Electrical Symptoms Appear

Refrigerators operate from mains electricity. Smoke, sparks, electric shock, abnormal overheating or repeated electrical tripping should not be treated as normal appliance behaviour.

01 Smoke or Burning Smell

Safely disconnect power where possible and avoid continued operation.

02 Sparks or Electric Shock

Do not touch exposed or wet electrical areas and stop using the appliance.

03 Repeated Breaker Tripping

Do not repeatedly reset protection and continue operating the refrigerator without investigating the cause.

INVERTER REFRIGERATOR REPAIR

Inverter Refrigerator Problems Require Proper Diagnosis

The word “inverter” does not identify the failed component. Inverter refrigerator problems can involve electrical, control, sensor, cooling or model-specific systems. Components should not be replaced only because the refrigerator is described as an inverter model.

01 Not Cooling

Poor cooling requires diagnosis before compressor, electronics or refrigerant work is recommended.

02 Error Code

The exact code should be interpreted according to the refrigerator brand and model.

03 Electrical / Control Fault

Sensors, connections, controls and electronics may be relevant depending on the symptoms.

04 Intermittent Operation

Irregular operation should be diagnosed instead of immediately assuming an inverter board failure.

NO-FROST REFRIGERATOR REPAIR

No-Frost Fridge Developing Excessive Ice or Cooling Problems?

No-frost refrigerator designs can use fans, airflow paths, sensors, heaters and other components as part of normal temperature and defrost operation. Excessive ice or poor cooling should be diagnosed according to the model rather than treated as a single universal fault.

01 Heavy Frost or Ice

Repeated excessive frost may require inspection of the applicable defrost and airflow systems.

02 Fridge Section Too Warm

Airflow and related systems may require consideration when the freezer is cold but the fridge section is warm.

03 Fan-Related Symptoms

Some no-frost refrigerators depend on fans for normal air circulation between relevant areas.

04 Defrost-Related Condition

Applicable heaters, sensors, controls or related systems may require diagnosis depending on the model.

COMMON PROBLEMS ACROSS REFRIGERATOR TYPES

Refrigerator Problems We Diagnose in Kathmandu

Different refrigerator designs can show similar symptoms, but the actual fault and repair method may differ by model.

01 Not Cooling

Fridge compartment does not maintain normal cooling.

02 Freezer Not Freezing

Food remains soft or freezing performance becomes weak.

03 Water Leakage

Water appears inside, underneath or around the appliance.

04 Excessive Frost

Heavy ice develops or repeatedly returns.

05 No Power

Refrigerator appears dead or does not operate normally.

06 Error Codes

Display shows a model-specific warning or fault code.

07 Noise & Vibration

New clicking, buzzing, rattling or unusual operating noise.

08 Door Seal Problems

Door does not close or seal normally.

DIAGNOSIS BEFORE REPLACEMENT

Refrigerator Type Does Not Tell Us Which Part Has Failed

Whether the refrigerator is single door, double door, side-by-side, inverter or no-frost, the actual symptom should be diagnosed before expensive components or sealed-system work are recommended.

01 Not Cooling ≠ Compressor

Poor cooling alone does not confirm compressor failure.

02 Poor Cooling ≠ Gas Filling

Refrigerant is the working fluid of a sealed system, not a routine consumable that normally needs regular topping up.

03 Error Code ≠ PCB

A displayed error does not automatically confirm control board failure.

04 Frost ≠ One Universal Fault

Frost symptoms can involve sealing, airflow, defrost or other model-specific conditions.

FRIDGE PARTS & MAINTENANCE IN KATHMANDU

Refrigerator Parts, Maintenance, Refrigerant & Workshop Repair

Refrigerator repair can involve cleaning and maintenance, electrical or mechanical components, door and drainage parts, or sealed-system work depending on the diagnosed fault. We inspect the refrigerator first and explain the recommended work before applicable parts or additional repair services are used.

01
REPLACEMENT PARTS

Refrigerator Parts Replacement

When diagnosis confirms that a component requires replacement, suitable parts can be discussed according to the refrigerator brand, model, compatibility and current availability.

02
MAINTENANCE

Refrigerator Maintenance & Servicing

Maintenance can include appropriate inspection and cleaning of accessible areas and checking relevant operating conditions according to the appliance and service requested.

03
WORKSHOP REPAIR

Workshop Repair When On-Site Work Is Not Practical

Many refrigerator problems can be inspected at the customer location. If suitable repair or testing cannot reasonably be completed there, workshop service may be discussed.

REFRIGERATOR COMPONENTS

Refrigerator Parts & Systems That May Require Service

The parts present vary by refrigerator type and model. Component replacement should be based on diagnosis rather than changing parts only because a symptom is present.

01 Compressor System

Compressor-related work is considered only when diagnosis supports a fault in the applicable system.

02 Fans & Motors

Applicable fan and motor systems may affect airflow, cooling and operating noise.

03 Thermostat / Temperature Controls

Mechanical or electronic temperature-control systems vary by refrigerator design.

04 Sensors

Modern refrigerators may use sensors for temperature, defrost and other model-specific functions.

05 Defrost Components

Applicable heaters, sensors, controls and related components may require diagnosis for defrost faults.

06 Electrical & Control Parts

Wiring, connections and electronic controls may require service when a confirmed electrical fault is present.

07 Door Gasket & Door Parts

Door-sealing components may require adjustment, repair or replacement depending on their condition.

08 Drainage & Water Components

Applicable drain, dispenser or water-system components can be inspected where fitted to the refrigerator.

ORIGINAL & COMPATIBLE PARTS

Replacement Parts Depend on Availability & Customer Choice

We may use original/genuine parts when available or suitable compatible replacement parts when appropriate. The available option depends on the refrigerator brand, model, required component and current parts supply.

01 Correct Compatibility

A replacement part should match the relevant refrigerator model and technical requirements.

02 Parts Availability

Some components may be immediately available while others may require sourcing.

03 Customer Approval

Applicable replacement work and available options should be discussed before proceeding.

04 Warranty Varies

Any service or parts warranty depends on the actual work, component and applicable terms rather than one universal duration.

REFRIGERANT / “FRIDGE GAS”

Poor Cooling Does Not Automatically Mean Your Fridge Needs “Gas Filling”

Refrigerant is the working fluid of an applicable sealed refrigeration system. It is not normally treated as a routine consumable that simply needs regular topping up. Poor cooling should therefore be diagnosed before refrigerant work is recommended.

01 Diagnose Cooling First

Airflow, controls, fans, frost conditions and other faults can also contribute to poor cooling.

02 Refrigerant Loss Needs a Cause

If refrigerant loss is suspected, the underlying reason should be considered rather than repeatedly topping up the system without addressing the cause.

03 Sealed-System Work Is Specialized

Refrigeration circuit work may require suitable tools, procedures and model-specific technical knowledge.

04 Avoid DIY Sealed-System Work

Do not cut, puncture or open refrigerant lines yourself. This can create safety, environmental and appliance-damage risks.

REFRIGERATOR MAINTENANCE IN KATHMANDU

Fridge Maintenance & Preventive Service

Maintenance cannot prevent every future failure, but appropriate inspection and cleaning can help identify visible problems and support normal refrigerator operation.

01 General Inspection

Check accessible areas for visible operating, electrical, leakage or sealing concerns.

02 Accessible Cleaning

Appropriate accessible areas may be cleaned depending on refrigerator design and service requirements.

03 Door & Gasket Check

Inspect accessible door closure and sealing condition where relevant.

04 Cooling Observation

Reported cooling and freezer performance can be considered during inspection.

05 Drainage Check

Applicable accessible drainage areas may be considered when leakage or water accumulation is reported.

06 Noise & Vibration Check

New or abnormal operating sounds can be investigated where practical.

07 Electrical Observation

Visible or reported electrical symptoms can be identified for further diagnosis where necessary.

08 Problem Identification

Existing symptoms can be discussed before they develop into a more disruptive refrigerator problem.

REFRIGERATOR WORKSHOP REPAIR

What Happens if the Fridge Cannot Be Repaired at Your Location?

Doorstep service is preferred where practical. Some faults, however, may require additional tools, extended testing, component work or a controlled repair environment. In such cases, workshop repair may be discussed with the customer.

01 On-Site Inspection First

The technician can first assess the refrigerator and determine whether practical on-site repair is possible.

02 Workshop Recommendation

Workshop service may be recommended when the repair cannot reasonably be completed at the customer location.

03 Pickup & Transport

Where pickup is arranged, transport charges depend on the refrigerator, location and service requirements.

04 Repair, Testing & Return

Approved workshop work can be completed and relevant operation checked before return arrangements are made.

DOORSTEP OR WORKSHOP?

The Repair Location Depends on the Actual Fridge Problem

We do not require workshop repair for every refrigerator. The technician considers the diagnosed fault and practical repair requirements first.

DOORSTEP SERVICE

Repair at Your Kathmandu Location

When the required work can be performed safely and practically at the customer's location, approved repair may be completed on site subject to parts, tools and technician requirements.

WORKSHOP SERVICE

Pickup for Additional Repair or Testing

If on-site repair is not practical, workshop service may be recommended. Pickup, transportation and return charges vary depending on appliance size, location and service requirements.

PARTS & WORKSHOP PROCESS

Diagnosis Comes Before Parts Replacement

Our process is designed to avoid assuming that an expensive component, refrigerant service or workshop repair is needed before the refrigerator is assessed.

01
Inspect

Check the refrigerator and reported symptoms.

02
Diagnose

Identify the likely system, component or condition involved.

03
Explain Options

Discuss repair, parts or workshop requirements where applicable.

04
Customer Approval

Proceed with additional repair after the applicable work has been discussed.

05
Repair & Test

Complete approved work and check relevant refrigerator operation where practical.

IMPORTANT REFRIGERATOR REPAIR NOTES

Four Things to Know Before Approving Fridge Repair

Refrigerator faults vary significantly. These points help keep repair recommendations accurate and transparent.

01 No Automatic Compressor Replacement

A refrigerator that is not cooling does not automatically have a failed compressor.

02 No Automatic “Gas Filling”

Poor cooling alone does not prove refrigerant loss or the need for refrigerant service.

03 No Universal Parts Warranty

Warranty terms vary according to the actual component, repair and applicable service conditions.

04 Workshop Is Not Always Required

Workshop repair is recommended only where the diagnosed work cannot reasonably be completed on site.

DIAGNOSIS BEFORE EXPENSIVE REPAIR

We Do Not Diagnose a Fridge From One Symptom Alone

A customer may describe the fridge as “not cooling,” “needing gas,” “PCB damaged” or “compressor damaged.” These descriptions are useful starting points, but they do not by themselves confirm which component or system has actually failed.

01 Not Cooling ≠ Compressor Failure

Cooling problems can have multiple causes, so compressor replacement should not be assumed from the symptom alone.

02 Poor Cooling ≠ Automatic “Gas Filling”

Refrigerant is the working fluid of an applicable sealed system and is not normally a routine consumable.

03 No Power / Error ≠ PCB Failure

Power, wiring, sensors, controls and other systems may require consideration before electronic-board replacement.

04 Water Leak ≠ One Universal Cause

Drainage, condensation, water systems and other model-specific conditions may need inspection.

Locality names are provided to explain our technician coverage. A customer in one of these areas can request a doorstep visit, but the area name should not be interpreted as a separate physical office or branch.

01 Technician Service Area

The locality identifies an area where doorstep service may be available.

02 Not a Separate Branch

We do not represent each listed locality as a separate company office.

03 Exact Address Required

Share your precise service address when booking so the technician route can be planned.

04 Availability Can Vary

Service timing depends on location, workload, booking time and technician availability.

The exact address helps determine technician travel and scheduling requirements.

02 Technician Route

Existing appointments can affect which technician is available nearby.

03 Booking Time

The time your request is received can affect same-day scheduling possibilities.

04 Service Requirements

The reported refrigerator problem may influence technician, tools and scheduling requirements.

SAME-DAY FRIDGE SERVICE IN KATHMANDU

04 Technician Availability

An appropriate available technician must be able to reach your location.

NPR 500 STANDARD VISIT
KATHMANDU VALLEY VISIT + INITIAL INSPECTION

NPR 500 Standard Technician Visit

NPR 500 is the compulsory standard technician visit and initial refrigerator inspection charge within normal Kathmandu Valley coverage. Repair labour, replacement parts, sealed-system work, workshop repair, pickup/return and other additional services are separate where applicable.

FRIDGE REPAIR COST IN KATHMANDU

Refrigerator Repair Cost, Visit Charge, Parts & Warranty

Refrigerator repair does not have one fixed price because the final cost depends on the diagnosed fault, required work, refrigerator type, replacement parts and whether additional workshop or sealed-system service is needed. We therefore separate the standard technician visit charge from the actual repair cost.

STANDARD KATHMANDU VALLEY VISIT
NPR 500

Technician Visit + Initial Inspection

The NPR 500 standard visit and initial inspection charge is compulsory when our technician visits a customer within our normal Kathmandu Valley service coverage.

REPAIR COST

The Actual Fridge Repair Cost Is Diagnosis-Based

We do not publish one fixed price for every refrigerator repair because a fridge that is not cooling, leaking, freezing excessively, making noise or showing an electrical problem can have different underlying causes. After inspection, the technician can explain the diagnosed issue and the applicable repair requirements before additional work proceeds.

WHAT AFFECTS FRIDGE REPAIR COST?

Why Refrigerator Repair Prices Can Vary

The cost depends on what the refrigerator actually needs, not simply the visible symptom reported by the customer.

01
Type of Refrigerator

Single-door, double-door, side-by-side, inverter and other refrigerator designs may use different systems and components.

02
Diagnosed Fault

A simple adjustment or minor repair is different from an electrical, mechanical, cooling-system or major component fault.

03
Required Replacement Parts

Parts cost varies according to the component, brand, refrigerator model, compatibility and availability.

04
Repair Labour

Labour requirements vary depending on the fault, repair complexity and work required to complete the approved job.

05
Sealed-System Work

If diagnosis confirms that specialized refrigeration circuit work is required, additional service requirements and costs may apply.

06
Workshop or Transport Requirements

If on-site repair is not practical, workshop repair, pickup and return may involve separate charges.

NPR 500 VISIT CHARGE

What Does the Standard Technician Visit Cover?

The standard NPR 500 charge covers the technician's visit and initial refrigerator inspection within our normal Kathmandu Valley coverage. It remains separate from repair, parts and additional services.

01 Technician Attendance

A technician travels to the customer's serviceable Kathmandu Valley location.

02 Initial Inspection

The refrigerator and reported symptoms are initially assessed.

03 Fault Assessment

Relevant systems can be considered to identify the likely cause of the problem.

04 Repair Discussion

Applicable repair requirements can be explained after inspection.

CHARGED SEPARATELY WHERE APPLICABLE

What Is Not Included in the NPR 500 Visit Charge?

The visit charge should not be confused with the complete repair price. Additional work is charged separately when applicable.

01 Repair Labour

Labour required to complete the approved refrigerator repair is separate.

02 Replacement Parts

Any component that requires replacement is charged separately according to the selected part.

03 Sealed-System Work

Refrigerant-related or other specialized sealed-system work is separate where diagnosis confirms it is required.

04 Workshop Service

Additional workshop repair or extended testing may involve separate charges.

05 Pickup & Return

Transport charges vary according to refrigerator size, location and service requirements.

06 Additional Services

Other requested or required work outside the initial inspection may be charged separately.

07 Special Parts Sourcing

Model-specific components may vary in price and sourcing requirements.

08 Outside Normal Coverage

For locations outside normal Kathmandu Valley coverage, visit or transportation charges may vary by distance.

REPAIR ESTIMATE

Diagnosis Helps Us Give a More Relevant Repair Estimate

A symptom alone may not reveal the actual failed component. For this reason, an exact repair price may not be possible before the refrigerator has been properly assessed.

01 Inspect First

Confirm the reported refrigerator problem.

02 Identify the Fault

Determine the likely system or component involved.

03 Explain Required Work

Discuss the applicable repair and parts requirements.

04 Customer Approval

Proceed with additional repair after the work has been discussed.

REFRIGERATOR PARTS

Original/Genuine & Compatible Replacement Parts

Parts availability differs by refrigerator brand, model, component and current supply. Replacement should be based on compatibility with the appliance and the diagnosed fault.

ORIGINAL / GENUINE PARTS

Used When Available & Appropriate

Original or genuine replacement parts may be used when available for the relevant refrigerator model and when the customer chooses that option. Availability cannot be guaranteed for every model or component.

COMPATIBLE PARTS

Suitable Alternatives Where Appropriate

Quality compatible replacement parts may be considered where suitable for the refrigerator and the customer agrees. Compatibility, expected use and available options should be considered before installation.

SERVICE & PARTS WARRANTY

Refrigerator Repair Warranty Depends on the Actual Job

We do not advertise one universal warranty period for every refrigerator repair. Any applicable warranty depends on the fault, repair performed, replacement component and terms associated with that particular service.

01 Repair Type

Different repair work may have different applicable service conditions.

02 Replacement Part

Applicable parts warranty can depend on the specific component and supplier terms.

03 Fault Coverage

Warranty generally relates to the applicable work or part, not unrelated future refrigerator faults.

04 Terms Explained Per Job

Any applicable warranty terms can be explained according to the actual repair performed.

IS YOUR REFRIGERATOR STILL UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY?

Check the Manufacturer's Official Warranty Terms Before Independent Repair

We are an independent appliance repair service and are not an authorized service center, agent or affiliate of the refrigerator manufacturers referenced on this website. If your refrigerator is still covered by a manufacturer warranty, consider checking the manufacturer's official warranty terms and authorized service network before requesting independent repair, because third-party opening or repair may affect manufacturer warranty coverage.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Available payment methods can be confirmed when the service is arranged or completed.

02 Bank Transfer

Bank transfer may be available for applicable payments.

COMMON CUSTOMER QUESTIONS

Refrigerator Repair Questions & Answers

Open any question below to see the answer. Refrigerator symptoms can have multiple causes, so these answers provide general guidance rather than replacing an appliance-specific inspection.

1. Why is my refrigerator not cooling properly?

Poor refrigerator cooling can be related to temperature controls, airflow, fans, frost buildup, door sealing, electrical operation, cooling-system conditions or other model-specific faults. The symptom alone does not identify the failed component.

2. Does a fridge not cooling mean the compressor is damaged?

No. A refrigerator that is not cooling does not automatically have a failed compressor. Other cooling, airflow, electrical, control, fan, frost or component problems may create similar symptoms.

Compressor replacement should therefore be recommended only when diagnosis supports it.

3. Does poor cooling mean my refrigerator needs gas filling?

Not necessarily. Refrigerant is the working fluid used in an applicable sealed refrigeration system and is not normally a routine consumable that requires periodic topping up.

If refrigerant loss is suspected, the underlying cause, including a possible leak or other sealed-system problem, should be considered before refrigerant-related work is performed.

4. Why is my freezer not freezing?

Freezer performance can be affected by temperature controls, airflow restrictions, fan problems, frost or defrost conditions, door sealing, cooling-system faults and other model-specific issues.

A freezer that is not freezing should be diagnosed before compressor, refrigerant or major parts work is assumed.

5. Why is water leaking from my refrigerator?

Water may originate from drainage paths, condensation, frost-related conditions, a drain-pan area, door sealing, a dispenser or water-supply system, or another model-specific water path.

Water visible under the refrigerator does not always show where the leak actually started.

6. Why does my fridge have too much frost or ice?

Excessive frost may be associated with door sealing, airflow, defrost operation, temperature control or other conditions. Repeatedly removing visible ice may not solve the underlying problem if the frost keeps returning.

7. Why is my refrigerator making a loud or unusual noise?

Refrigerator sounds can come from fans, vibration, appliance positioning, frost interference, mechanical components, compressor/start-related systems or normal model-specific operating sounds.

A new, persistent or unusually loud sound should be assessed together with cooling performance and other symptoms.

8. Does unusual fridge noise mean the compressor has failed?

No. Noise alone does not confirm compressor failure. Fan-related noise, vibration, loose components, frost interference and other mechanical conditions can create sounds that customers may associate with the compressor.

9. Why does my refrigerator keep running continuously?

Longer running can be influenced by temperature settings, ambient conditions, door use, airflow, door sealing, cooling demand or an appliance fault. Continuous operation does not automatically confirm compressor damage.

10. Why is the side or back of my refrigerator hot?

Some warmth around certain refrigerator areas can occur during normal heat-rejection operation, depending on the appliance design, ambient conditions and operating load.

Excessive or unusual heat together with poor cooling, burning smell, electrical symptoms or abnormal noise should be inspected.

11. My fridge has no power. Does that mean the PCB is damaged?

Not automatically. Power supply, plugs, wiring, electrical connections, controls, protection components and other systems may need to be considered before an electronic control board is diagnosed as faulty.

12. How much does fridge repair cost in Kathmandu?

There is no single fixed price for every refrigerator repair. The cost depends on the diagnosed fault, refrigerator type, required labour, replacement parts, sealed-system work and whether workshop or transportation service is required.

13. What is your refrigerator technician visit charge?

The standard technician visit and initial inspection charge is NPR 500 within our normal Kathmandu Valley coverage. This charge is compulsory when the technician visits the customer.

Repair labour, replacement parts, sealed-system work, workshop service, pickup/return and additional services are separate where applicable.

14. Is the NPR 500 visit charge included in the repair price?

No. The NPR 500 standard visit and initial inspection charge is separate from repair labour, parts and other applicable services.

15. Do you provide same-day fridge repair in Kathmandu?

Same-day refrigerator service may be available, but it cannot be guaranteed for every booking. Availability depends on your exact location, booking time, current workload and technician availability.

16. Do you offer 24/7 refrigerator repair?

Calls and booking requests can be accepted 24/7. This does not mean a technician is guaranteed to attend or complete a repair at any hour. Technician visits are scheduled separately according to availability.

17. Which refrigerator brands do you repair?

We provide independent multi-brand refrigerator repair for many common brands available in Nepal. Exact serviceability depends on the refrigerator model, fault, appliance condition and availability of suitable parts.

18. Which types of refrigerators can you service?

We can inspect and service many single-door, double-door, side-by-side, inverter and other common refrigerator types. Repairability depends on the appliance design, condition, diagnosed fault and parts availability.

19. Do you use original refrigerator spare parts?

Original or genuine parts may be used when available and suitable for the refrigerator model. Quality compatible replacement parts may also be considered where appropriate and agreed with the customer.

Original-part availability cannot be guaranteed for every refrigerator model or component.

20. Do you provide a warranty after fridge repair?

Any applicable repair or parts warranty depends on the actual work performed, diagnosed fault, replacement part and service terms for that particular job. We do not use one universal warranty duration for every refrigerator repair.

21. Can you repair my refrigerator at home?

Many refrigerator inspections and repairs can be handled at the customer's location when the fault, required tools, parts and working conditions make on-site repair practical.

Workshop repair may be recommended when additional equipment, repair work or testing is required.

22. Do you provide refrigerator pickup and return service?

Pickup and return may be arranged when workshop repair is required. Transportation charges vary according to the refrigerator size, service location and transport requirements.

23. Which areas of Kathmandu do you provide fridge repair in?

Service may be available in Samakhushi, Balaju, Gongabu, Maharajgunj, Basundhara, Chabahil, Boudha, Koteshwor, Baneshwor, Kalanki, Swayambhu, Thamel and other nearby serviceable Kathmandu locations.

These are technician service areas and do not represent separate physical branches or offices in each locality.

24. Can I request service if my area is not listed?

Yes. Contact us with your exact location. We can check whether a technician visit can be arranged based on distance, current workload and technician availability.

25. My refrigerator is still under manufacturer warranty. What should I do?

If your refrigerator is still under manufacturer warranty, consider checking the manufacturer's official warranty terms and authorized service network before requesting independent repair.

Third-party opening or repair may affect manufacturer warranty coverage depending on the manufacturer's terms.

26. Are you an authorized refrigerator service center?

No. We are an independent multi-brand appliance repair service. We are not an authorized service center, agent or affiliate of the refrigerator manufacturers referenced on this website. Brand names and trademarks are used only to identify the products we service.

IMPORTANT DIAGNOSIS REMINDER

Refrigerator Symptoms Should Not Be Used to Guess Expensive Parts

Several different faults can create similar refrigerator symptoms. Inspection helps determine whether the problem is related to controls, airflow, electrical systems, drainage, defrost operation, mechanical components or the cooling system.

01 Not Cooling

Does not automatically mean compressor failure.

02 Poor Cooling

Does not automatically mean refrigerant or “gas filling.”

03 No Power / Error

Does not automatically mean the PCB has failed.

04 Water Leakage

Does not automatically identify the source of the leak.

REFRIGERATOR SAFETY

Stop Using the Appliance if You Notice Serious Electrical Symptoms

If you notice smoke, a burning smell, sparks, electric shock or repeated electrical tripping, stop using the refrigerator and disconnect it from power where this can be done safely. Avoid opening live electrical areas or cutting, puncturing or opening sealed refrigerant lines yourself. Specialized electrical and sealed-system work should be handled appropriately.

Does not automatically mean compressor failure.

02 Poor Cooling

Does not automatically mean the refrigerator needs “gas filling.”

03 No Power / Error

Does not automatically mean the PCB has failed.

04 Water Leakage

Does not automatically identify where the water originated.
